Ordering on our website is very easy. Just click the ONLINE SHOPPING button to go to our secure shopping cart system. Browse our inventory by category, and click the Add to Cart button for each item you wish to purchase. When you are done, go to Checkout to complete your order. Shipping and handling charges will be calculated automatically. (See Shipping Information for rates.) You will receive an invoice by email, listing all items purchased.

If you feel uneasy about submitting your credit card information, choose Check/ Money Order as your payment method. You will still receive an invoice listing all of the items purchased, and you can simply send your check or money order to complete the order.

Plant Size

Plants are shipped in 2½" pots, usually in bloom, or ready to bud or bloom. (Semiminiatures and miniatures are in 2¼" pots, and tiny minis or micro-minis in 1½" thumb pots.) At times, some varieties may be smaller due to heavy demand! During the hot summer months, African violets described as having variegated foliage may not show much variegation. Please be assured that the variegation will return with cooler weather.

African Violet leaves

African violet leaves are packed 2 leaves per variety ordered. If for any reason, they seem limp on arrival, float them in water for a few hours before putting them in your rooting mix.

Note:Leaves are available through mail-order only. We do not offer leaves for sale at the greenhouses. Sorry, no exceptions will be made.

Phone Orders

Phone orders are taken Monday thru Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. (Eastern Time) only. We are not adequately staffed to take phone orders on weekends. Phone: 315-429-8291.

Sales Tax

New York State residents will be charged the applicable combined state and local sales tax for your county, on the total sum of your order, including shipping charges.

Cancellation of Orders / Insufficient Funds / Miscellaneous Fees

If your order has already been processed, picked, or pre-packaged, there will be a $10.00 fee if you cancel the order for any reason!

If your order has already been packaged, and your debit/credit card is declined due to insufficient funds or over the credit limit, and after we've tried to contact you by phone or email unsuccessfully for two weeks, a $10.00 fee will be charged to that card!


High demand for some varieties make occasional substitutions a necessity. Though it does not happen often, we can at times, temporarily deplete our supply of the more popular varieties. While we are waiting for these young plantlets to grow to adequate shipping size, and, so that your order will not be delayed, please list 1 or 2 alternate choices, to be used only if absolutely necessary. If you request "no substitutions," you will receive a refund. If paying by check, any refund will be sent to you in the form of a merchandise credit slip to be used on your next order, providing the refund is $10.00 or less. Any refund over $10.00 will be by check.


Payment in full must accompany all orders. We accept payment by credit card (Mastercard, Visa), money order, cashier's check, personal check, or credit card by phone. (If you are a new customer and paying by personal check, we reserve the right to delay your order until your check clears the bank!) Credit card orders are charged on the day when your order is packed and shipped. Checks are cashed upon receipt of your order.

Vacation Dates

It would be helpful if you provide us with instructions regarding vacation dates, etc., so plants do not arrive when no one is there to receive them. Use the Comments box during checkout.

Gift Certificates

Gift certificates are available year round. They're a wonderful way to show how much you care for that someone special! A current catalog will be included. Don't forget birthdays, Christmas, anniversaries, or just to say 'Thank You'!


We guarantee all plants to be true to identity. We make every effort possible to maintain the highest standards of quality. Having no control over the plants after they leave our greenhouses, we give no warranty, expressed or implied, as to their productiveness or health in the hands of the purchaser. All listings are subject to availability. We cannot guarantee that all items listed will be in stock when you place your order, due to unexpected demand.

Damaged Shipments

We guarantee safe arrival of your plants! We take great care to wrap and pack your order to protect it from the possible mishandling during transit. In spite of all our efforts, leaf breakage sometimes occurs. You can use those leaves to start more plants if you wish, removing any additional leaves to reshape the plant. Leaf breakage can happen when you're shipping something as fragile as an African violet. A few broken leaves is not reasonable grounds for replacement of plants! We can only guarantee a "viable" crown on african violets! If plants are badly damaged, frozen or heat burned, please notify us immediately! Do not discard plants until you have talked with us. Sorry, we do not give cash refunds!
